Emily Irene VanCamp originally wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. After having a time spent with her sister Katie in The Ladies Room movie set, Emily became fascinated by acting. Alongside studying acting and acting lessons, VanCamp was offered a guest spot on a show that aired in Canada. She starred in a variety of shows, including in Are You afraid of the Dark? Radio Active. VanCamp's career exploded after he was cast for the part of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. The show was canceled after 9 episodes, despite positive review and ratings that were low. In reality, she was swift in securing another role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. It was for this role that she was nominated by the Young Artist Award, and as well as the four Teen Choice Awards.
